IN CHARACTER
Character Name: Stiles Stilinski (full name Mieczyslaw Stilinski, but he goes by Stiles.)
Canon: Teen Wolf
Canon Point: 3x18
In-Game Tattoo Placement: Very small, right behind his ear. Like this.
Current Health/Status: At his current canonpoint, Stiles is possessed by a very spooky and very evil spirit called the Nogitsune, and he's also just been brought back to life after being dead for a little while. He's very sleep deprived, to the extent that he's administered a shot of midazolam, needing to be sedated in hospital in order to catch some sleep - but his sleep deprivation, the darkness he brought back with him after being dead and the effects of being haunted have given him a laundry list of symptoms to deal with.
There's also a "door in his mind" that's been left ajar after his resurrection, meaning he's vulnerable to things that could haunt him - possession works easier on him, thanks to his defenselessness as a host.
Age: 17
Species: Human
Content Warnings: psychological horror, parental death, mind loss/dementia, alcoholism
History: teen wolf wiki | stiles' history
Personality:
Stiles Stilinski is the heart of Teen Wolf. There's weight to his role in the show; while the people who surround him are werewolves, banshees, gun-wielding super-murderers, spooky lizardmen and electricity-wielding fox-people, Stiles is your very normal, very human human. Throughout the drama of the show, the supernatural politics and the threat of something bigger and badder always just beyond the horizon, Stiles is the very resilient comic relief. He's biting sarcasm, he's levity, he's the punchline that lights up a darker moment. There's weight to that, and no matter what the show throws at him, that core of him never changes - humor is his backbone.Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:
I'm 147 pounds of pale skin and fragile bone, okay? Sarcasm is my only defense is one of Stiles' more self-deprecating ways of describing himself, but it follows through to many of his interactions with people in the show. Stiles is brave, even if on a surface level you wouldn't expect that kind of depth from him, thanks to all the ADHD-fueled fidgeting, the hyperbolic jokes he often makes at his own expense and the constant whining about how he just wants to get laid. While his friends have their own various supernatural advantages that give them all an edge in a fight, all Stiles ever really has is his stubbornness, his wit and his inability to step down from adversaries that could easily, easily get him killed.
He's strong willed and rarely allows himself to be intimidated, with a powerful sense of justice that guides him even through his grey morality when it's at its greyest; while he has his moments in the series where Stiles is willing to do something awful for the sake of the greater good, he's ultimately a very heroic, self-sacrificing person who gets furious in the face of cruelty and wrongdoing, and when he is shown to get someone hurt, even in the course of self-defense, the guilt weighs on him well past reason. Stiles is the kind of good, genuine person who'll throw himself into the fire if it means saving somebody else, often to the point of getting himself hurt in the process, but he also tends to lack the self-confidence to realize that he's more than just a funny, smart nerd.
Stiles doesn't ever really see the good things he does worthy of pride or merit - he's the kid on his lacrosse team that's always benched, he's the robin to his best friend's batman. Stiles is this gangly, awkward doofus described as a hyperactive spaz in canon, pretty much the one male character in the show who doesn't go out of his way to take his shirt off every two scenes. Stiles is pretty insecure in himself. The thing is, though, despite this insecurity, Stiles values his humanity and the person that he is now even when offered the chance to change; he refuses Peter Hale's offer of the bite and neither asks to be bitten nor resents the fact that he never was throughout the rest of the series. Despite such a strong connection to his being human, though, Stiles is incredibly loyal to people based on his own sense of right and wrong than anything else. While Scott often describes the bite as a curse and chooses to favor hunters and death over other werewolves or giving the bite to anyone else, Stiles' loyalty gravitates to the people whose values and sense of moral character align with his own. He's ride or die with the people he loves, no matter who those people are. Human or werewolf or anything in between.
When Stiles was a kid, his mother died young. Much of who Stiles is was shaped by that loss. Even before the events of the series gave Stiles PTSD and a sense of constant hypervigilance, he was far more conscientious of the heath and happiness of the people around him than his own, an underlying paranoia and fear of losing the people he loves often seen in his interactions with them. Between micromanaging his father's diet and worrying about his alcoholism, spending sleepless nights and long days on helping his best friend Scott adjust to his new life as a werewolf and generally just sticking his nose into other people's battles so he can fight them for them, Stiles is the kind of guy to put weight on his shoulders even if it starts to burn him out.
But that's not to say that Stiles isn't first and foremost a troublemaker, because, well, he is. He's this rebellious, clever, incredibly perceptive and incredibly empathetic little shithead who's described by one of his teachers as a "great kid, super smart, zero ability to focus". Stiles has a quick, ever-thinking mind, and he's often too intelligent and too curious for his own good. Stiles isn't great at following orders or sitting quietly, he's an active, investigative person; he keeps an evidence board in his bedroom filled with unsolved cases he works on all at once, he fixates on and is consumed by scattered thought after scattered thought, distraction after distraction. He's the type of kid who spent many of his teenage years sneaking out of the house to do things like, oh, look at a dead body with his best friend after eavesdropping on his cop father's dispatch call, for example. Stiles likes knowing things.
In 3B, Stiles was very recently brought back from the dead. At the start of the season, he's been sleepwalking, forgetting how to read, never knowing if he's awake or still dreaming and slowly, slowly getting put under the assumption that he's suffering through the same form of dementia that killed his mother. In part, this is thanks to the ritual that resurrected him - his death left a "darkness" in him, a permanent scar - but there was more to it than that. His death left him vulnerable to letting evil into his mind, and he was possessed by a dark trickster spirit known as The Nogitsune. The Nogitsune made Stiles' slow descent into madness far worse, taking control of his body when he sleepwalks and feeding off of his misery and growing fear of death. Stiles is coming into Deerington very, very tired, still fearing that he's losing his mind, and the effects of this darkness, this possession, will still be in effect to some degree; he'll have trouble reading, he'll struggle to sleep, and there'll always be something in the back of his mind dealing with all of this.
But - again - no matter what life throws at Stiles, he stays true to the core of him. He's a caring, funny, loving person who wants the best for his friends and family. He's the dork who details the history of circumcision for his economics class, the guy who scores one goal in one lacrosse game and feels overwhelmingly exhilarated. He's the guy who had a crush on the same girl for nearly his entire life, who noticed her intelligence and her depth when very few people did. He's slightly slow to trust and always thinking through every possible resolution to every possible situation, and all in all, he's got a very good heart.
Stiles is your run of the mill 17 year old. He's played a lot of video games, knows his way around a movie or two, and with his dad as a cop and his penchant for staying up until the middle of the night browsing wikipedia and learning things he'd never otherwise use in real life, he has a pretty particular set of skills. Not in the cool, Liam Neeson in Taken kind of way, but he definitely knows how to fix an engine with nothing but duct tape, knows how to clone keycards to break into buildings he should definitely, definitely not be in and could probably give you an oratory history on why the beanie babies were such a thing in the 90s. That being said, Stiles does have a couple of tricks up his sleeve.Inventory:
intelligence - Stiles is the planner of his group back home, someone described by Lydia as "too smart for instructions". He's technologically proficient, capable of solving problems and thinking through tough situations, and he has a flexible way of thinking that almost gets him out of trouble as often as it gets him into it. He'd sooner outsmart someone than face them in a one to one fight, and he possesses a vast array of knowledge, both trivial and significant. He has impressive critical thinking skills, great grades (when he tries to get them) and shows an aptitude for memorizing and understanding things like laws and complicated sequences.
athleticism - Stiles isn't a star athlete by any means, always benched during real games during lacrosse season, but he's actually surprisingly strong. He's capable of restraining struggling werewolves, taking people by surprise during physical altercations, and landing solid punches on even supernatural adversaries. While he's not the biggest badass around, he can hold his own in a fight. He's more dexterous and nimble than strictly strong, both in terms of being able to run fast enough to keep up with the rest of his pack and in terms of being sly and quick enough to sneak into places he doesn't belong, pick people's pockets without being seen and steal things that he absolutely shouldn't be stealing.
resurrected - As stated above, Stiles temporarily died in order to rescue his father from being ritualistically sacrificed, and when he was brought back to life, the resurrection and his temporary death left a scar over his heart. Described as a darkness, Stiles has suffered the after-effects of this through sleep paralysis, nightmares, insomnia, dyslexia, hallucinations, a habit of sleepwalking and various other symptoms. This has also left him vulnerable to possession and, presumably, other supernatural psychological influences.
He doesn't have any active, supernatural powers himself, so warping is N/A.

[ listen, Rapture hasn't been easy. between being shot at, seeing someone's face explode and running on basically zero sleep, stiles hasn't exactly been having the time of his life since his arrival here. when he turns on his video feed and hits up the network, he looks very, very tired - but also, surprisingly happy. victorious, at least. he's had a win. finally. for once. ]
Hey! Okay, so, I'm looking for the following supplies: duct tape, a sheet of cardboard, something sharp, and some kind of big, transparent box I can turn into a terrarium. Preferably made out of glass, but plastic will do, I guess. Maybe some - I don't know - dead rats, too? Actually, wait, scrap that. Not gonna open myself to a bunch of strangers giving me all their dead rats.
[ he holds up a circular, tin case, which seems to be making an awful lot of noise. it doesn't take a genius to figure out what's inside - the skittering, scratching noises make it pretty clear that stiles has captured one of those weird, skin-eating centipedes that are crawling around rapture, and now he wants to keep it, study it, figure out how it ticks. maybe that's a bad idea, but - hey, one less bug wandering the halls in search of someone to wear like its own personal gundam suit, right? ]
Also - long shot - is anyone here an entomologist? Probably not, right? I guess - uh - just let me know if you've ever had any experience with monitoring and/or dissecting and/or being attacked by flesh-eating aliens before. Have your people contact my people.
[ that's a normal thing to ask for, he figures. anyway - thanks. stiles out. ]

Additional Information: just a quick note to clarify that while stiles won't be bringing the nogitsune in with him (given that the nogitsune is a fully fledged character that can be apped in its own right), i do want to play with the effects of its possession rather than completely sever ties to that plot point. he'll be suffering from the things listed under his health report and be under the (false) impression that he's got frontotemporal dementia until something prompts him to realize otherwise, but he's in no way actually being piloted by a ghost right now. his mind's just messy, largely from the same after effects of his resurrection that scott and allison also went through. he can either recover from this or have his symptoms be exacerbated depending on what feels appropriate given game events and whatever circumstances he ends up playing through. if you have any concerns about this please let me know.
